Technology ePortfolios

During my time in Technology, I learnt about ePortfolios and we will be trialling the use of ePortfolios. The ePortfolios will be used to visually showcase the work that we would be doing in Technology.  We will use our ePortfolios in each technology subject. We will use our blogs to reflect on our learning. We will also use the Year 8 DigiTech Blog to collaborate on different learning activities. These are the different ways, in which we will share, what we learn.

Technology at Tamaki College.

Today, the 14th of October 2016, year 7's from Room 7  went for  technology.

We used a lot of materials for a necklace that is in progress. In the last few weeks we had picked a symbol for Technology and got it cut out with a Scroll Saw.  When we where done with that process we had put some melted metal into it and waited around 10 minutes for the metal to set.

Once the metal was set, I had the delight to file it and shape it into the actual size we wanted, I made a dolphin. Also I'm in the process of filing it into the correct size. It takes a while to file it but when you get the job done, its all worth it.

This class is the Wood Tech class with Mr Grundy!

Trip to AUT🎓 🖥

Tuesday the 6th of September was a very unique day for me as 10 students from each school : Glenbrae, Pt England, Glenn Innes and Glen Taylor had been selected to have an opportunity to take part in a program where you learn all the Insurance and all the different qualities of Insurance.

Each School students received a different type of currency and that was a group. I participated in the Shekel group which is a currency from Israeli. The AUT we went to was the South Campus (Otara), we learnt about what types of Insurances their was, my group and I learnt a lot about the different types if Insurance.

Auckland University of Technology also provided us food, prizes and Technology. I really enjoyed my time at AUT.
