Writing Rescue at Sea

Yesterday during writing we looked at the structural features about Rescue at Sea which is a small narrative.

Rescue At Sea
A desperate call for help had been received the coastguard at Stormy Bay. A small yacht   was floundering in huge seas in the channel.

Within a short time. Jon and his crew from Air Rescue had their helicopter hovering over the scene. As they peered through the glory rain-swept haze, searching for a glimpse of the two sailors, a massive wave swapped the yacht and snapped its mast.

“There they are!” yelled  Brett. The man were clutching ropes trailing from the mast near the stern.

“The weather’s deteriorating quickly”. Jon said in worried tones. “A rescue’s going to be extremely difficult in these conditions.

“You keep the chopper as steady as possible and I’ll control the winch”, replied Brett confidently.

The winch cable writhed like a giant snake in the fierce wind. To Brett’s relief one of the man on the yacht grabbed the harness on the cable and strapped it on. Soon both men were safely winched into the helicopter.

“Welcome  aboard”, said Jon, glancing at the fuel gauge. “Well just make it back to headquarters.
