For maths revision #2 I worked these following questions, with a strategy of how I did so.
Sally used ⅔ of a cup of flour to make 6 cupcakes. How much flour will she need to make 24 cupcakes?
6 & 24 is in relation to 6 x 4 = 24. So that means ⅔ x 4 = 8/12 - 4/6 - ⅔ or 12/3 which is 4!
Sione took $584 out of his bank account. That was ¼ of his money. How much money did he have in the beginning? 2336
¼ of his money = $584 x 4 = $2336
Tim ran 0.87 kilometres to his nana’s house then ran another 1.8 kilometres to his cousin’s house. How many kilometres did he run? 2.67
0.87 + 1.8 = 2.67. 1.8 + 0.8 = 2.6 + 0.07 = 2.67
Three friends shared 4 pizzas while four family members shared 6 pizzas. Who will get the most pizza? The family or friends? Why?
It takes 5 hours to drive to Kerikeri in peak traffic and 4.5 hours during normal traffic. If we leave at 9 am during normal traffic what time will we arrive.
9 am + 4.5hrs (240 mins & 30mins)
9 + 4 = 13 + .5 = 13.5 which also is 1:30pm
They will arrive at 1:30pm
Convert these times to 24 hour times

Peter needed to buy 75 bottles of water. They came in packs of 5. How many packs will be need to buy?
15
75 divided by 5 = 15. 5 x 10 = 50. 5 x 5 = 25. 50 + 25 = 75
4-2X5 =
6
(2 x 5 = 10) (10 - 4 = 6)
What is the average of these numbers? 4, 6, 7, 3
4 + 6 + 7 + 3 = 20
20 divided by 4 = 5
The average of these numbers = 5
